Seminar Information:

The seminar is scheduled for Saturday June 27, 2009 from 9:15 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at The Lodge at Riverside Event Center, 955 SE 7th Street, Grants Pass, Oregon. The Event Center is located on the banks of the Rogue River in downtown Grants Pass. Registration opens at 8:00 a.m.

The main program will consist of workshops, talks, creative arts and an informative guest program. Some of the workshop titles include:

  • "Tools for the Journey" - presented by guest speaker Phil Morimitsu.
  • "Have You Had a Spiritual Experience"
  • "Manifesting a Loving Life"
  • "Spiritual Healing: The Path of Love and Self - Responsibility"
  • "Mastering Change in Your Life"
  • "Finding Spiritual Balance in a Challenging World"

The seminar will conclude Saturday evening with a talk entitled "Discover the Joys and Challenges of a Spiritual Inner Life and Tools for the Journey" by Phil Morimitsu.

Youth Program - 9:15 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.:
Teens and youth get an opportunity to express Soul's love for life through workshops, creative activities and theatre. All youth are invited to attend the main program in the evening.

Youth activities include:

  • Polishing Stones - an interactive workshop
  • Theater Class - youth will write, rehearse and produce a play based on their life experiences.
  • My Awakened Heart - workshop
  • The Golden Heart - creative workshop
  • Fashion Show
  • Youth Panel - "Transitions and Changing Gears"

Guest Speaker: Phil Morimitsu

Phil Morimitsu has been a member of ECKANKAR since 1972. He worked at the ECKANKAR International Headquarters from 1983 to 1986, and later with Illuminated Way Publishing. Following the publication of two books, In the Company of ECK Masters and The Seeker, he has traveled, given talks, workshops, and various media interviews in over 40 countries spanning five continents.

He enjoys finding practical, everyday life applications of spirituality.

Phil graduated from the School of Visual Arts in New York City with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and worked for twelve years as a commercial artist. Following his art career, he was a training and management consultant for numerous International Fortune 500 companies, and is currently in the finance and investment field.

Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, Phil has lived in New York, San Francisco, Honolulu and several other cities before moving to Tokyo in 1990. He has also lived in Shanghai and his current residence is Hong Kong. Phil and his wife, Nancy Pang, are Co-Regional ECK Spiritual Aides (RESA’s) for eight Asian countries.

Phil will be presenting a workshop during the day entitled "Tools for the Journey" He will address the entire seminar audience on Saturday evening as he explores the topic and "Discover the Joys and Challenges of a Spiritual Inner Life and Tools for the Journey"

Directions:

Directions from the North:
Take I-5 South – exit 58 into Grants Pass
Continue straight from the off-ramp onto 6TH Street
Continue thru town (approx. 2.5 miles)
Once you pass “M” Street look for East Park St. –turn left
(it is the 2nd St. once you pass “M” St.)
Turn left on 7TH Street (a one way), get in right lane.
Just after crossing the bridge look for The Lodge at Riverside sign on the right – pull into parking lot.
The Lodge Hotel is on the right, and The Lodge Event Center is to the left.

Directions from the South:
Take I-5 North – exit 55 into Grants Pass
Continue straight from the off-ramp onto Grants Pass Parkway, continue on the Parkway to “M” Street, turn right
Look for 8TH Street, turn left (no light or stop sign)
Just after turn, look for sign on the right “900 Building”
Pull into parking lot – park anywhere
The Lodge Event Center is to the left (follow ECK signs)
